Balgownie Estate is the primary meeting location prior to the flight. After the flight, we will take you back here for a champagne buffet breakfast. We meet at Rae's Restaurant which is onsite.

  • Parents or guardians of children under the age of 12 must sign a wavier of responsibility for the safety of the child whilst on bus
  • Please advise any specific dietary requirements at time of booking
  • Subject to favourable weather conditions.You can re-book your balloon flight/breakfast for an alternative date or a full refund for the flight/ breakfast can be given. No refunds given for wine tour portion. If your balloon flight is cancelled due to inclement weather, your winery tour will PROCEED as scheduled. On the morning of the wine tour you MUST ring the Australian Winery Tour Co. (AWTC) office on 1800 996 414 from 8am to confirm which pick up point you will be using. You will have to make your own way to 1 of the 5 x AWTC pick up points in Melbourne (as below), or to the Yarra Valley meeting point at Punt Road Wines: 10 St Hubert’s Road, Coldstream. Passengers are required to make own arrangements to meet the service at Punt Road Wines in the event of balloon flight cancellation. AWTC are unable to provide door to door hotel pickup or drop off within the Yarra Valley or Melbourne CBD. You will be picked up & dropped off at a central location within Melbourne CBD before/after the winery tour ends.
  • Infants must sit on laps
  • Not recommended for travelers with back problems
  • Not recommended for pregnant travelers
  • No heart problems or other serious medical conditions
  • COVID-19 INFECTION CONTROL MEASURES ● Cleaning and disinfection in accordance with guidance from Safe Work Australia and public health authority. ● Clinical grade hand sanitiser is provided in the workplace and throughout the entire ballooning experience (out of reach of children). ● Frequently touched surfaces belonging to GBA including handrails, doors, vehicles, equipment, phones and keyboards are regularly cleaned. ● All guests of GBA including staff scheduled to fly must check in the evening prior to flight. ● If you observe anything that does not meet this standard, please advise management immediately or as soon as possible.
  • Travelers should have a moderate physical fitness level
  • This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund

    Amazing experience. All well organised as it was planned. Enjoyed the group also the drivers and the team were very friendly and nice. The air ballooning experience is worth try it’s just wonderful.

    A wonderful experience. Our pilot Ronald had a textbook flight and landing. Beautiful calm weather along with amazing views. I’m scared of heights but have always wanted to try ballooning. Staff keep you well informed of Safty requirements and I felt securer in the basket. I recommend ballooning anyone wanting to try something different you won’t regret it. Thank you to everyone for this experience.

    We had had an amazing flight with Sanchiro as our pilot. A perfect day and a perfect flight. I am not great with heights but it was so smooth and gentle that it somehow made the height ok. An amazing experience that I am pleased we did with Global ballooning.

    Awesome day out. The guys at hot air ballooning were very easy to deal with and very polite and informative. Champagne Breakfast is a must and well worth the wait. Love these guys. Must book

    An amazing Hot Air Balloon ride with Global Ballooning Australia around the Yarra Valley. The day was professionally organised and the staff were very friendly.

    Wow what an experience.The accomodation and meal were excellent with the views from the balloon spectacular.The pilot and ground crew were very professional and friendly. This is a must do experience.

    The views were amazing and the sunrise hitting the mountains was an amazing experience then finishing off with champagne breakfast and wine tour was spectacular and the staff are so friendly would definitely do it again

    It was my birthday, and a bucket list adventure. Beginning with a fantastic dinner at Ray's Restaurant and overnight luxury stay at Balgownie Resort. The flight took around 1 hour, and silently drifted over Hurstbridge, Panton Hill and Lake Winnakie/Sugarloaf Dam before gently landing at Yerring Station. The crew were fantastic and everyone on board had a fantastic time.

    What can I say but WOW!! From start to finish they were so professional and communication was A1. The balloon ride over the Yarra Valley was over & above our expectations. Such a magical experience. Then onto the winery tour with Shane as our guide was fantastic. He knew so much about wines & the history of the Yarra Valley. Highly recommend doing both 😀

    Great great fantastic day, from 4am when Bambi the story telling fun bus driver & his organisational cohort picked us up from our meeting point to the cool calm collected Ballon pilot taking us on a magical flight over the Yarra Valley and the fantastic champagne breakfast to finish. Then onto the winery tour and once again a fantastic fun bus driver called Tony telling us plenty of facts along with a few exaggerated tales to mix with a few wines from a few winery’s. Magic day 👍
