  I went on the Taste of Chinatown tour & was more than pleasantly surprised by all the wonderful places we visited & the history we learnt. I am born & bred in Sydney & have only been to this area a few times even though I work close by! We have been back to one of the restaurants in the past month & the food was just as delicious as the first time. This is a great tour to do as it helped us find out more about the area & explore things we wouldn’t normally try. Thank you to Ivy as well, she was an awesome guide, we had a fun & fantastic time!! The list of places we visited for recommendation are: Topotea Tea Shop Emperor’s Garden Cakes and Bakery Chinatown Noodle King Kowloon Cafe Shop

  Tirian was a fantastic tour guide, so patient with the children! He was very knowledgeable about the variety of foods and places to point out. We all learned about the historical perspectives of the variety of foods. From Northern Chinese dumplings and the reason for the prevalence of lamb in their food....to the ICG chicken and its origins in the Korean War. What a great tour - highly recommend!

  I wanted to use my dine and discover voucher so I chose to do a food tour. Christie was very informative and I found this tour very impressive. She took us to places that had authentic Asian cuisine and where you wouldn’t go yourself. I thought there would of been little more food to try but the whole experience was a lot of fun. I would definitely go on another tour with this company.

  My husband and I went on a tour of Haymarket with Christie. It was great. We live in Pyrmont and often walk through Haymarket but Christie showed us things and places that we’d never noticed. She took us to a variety of excellent restaurants that, again, we never would have gone to. She explained the history of the area and the different types of foods. We ate plentifully and also had the pleasure of going to a tea ceremony. I would highly recommend this tour. Thanks Christie

  The Taste Chinatown Tour was just absolutely fabulous, Lesley gave us the best customer service, our guide Christie was so knowledgeable and friendly. We booked the tour for a private Hen’s party and very last minute as other plans had fallen through. The food was great, we were shown places that I would never have thought to go to and we learnt so much along the way. Thanks again for such a fabulous day, can’t recommend highly enough.

  What a wonderful way to spend an evening, wandering through Chinatown and experiencing some of the amazing food on offer there. The food was delicious and it was fun to get to know everyone in our small party of five. Our guide, Tirian, was an excellent host for the evening. We were taken to places we may never have been drawn to visit but once we knew how amazing they were, we were back again a couple of days later to take family there. This was our second Taste Tour and we will definitely be back to do more tours next time we come to Sydney.

  A fantastic tour through Sydney's Chinatown district. As locals we typically stick to the few favs, so this was a great way to explore some less obvious/known places. It was good to do it with another couple from the Sunshine Coast (out of towners). We had a great tour guide, Tirian, who shared insights about the 6 or so places we visited. He also has a wealth of asian cultural awareness and experiences (for a young guy) that he openly shared. Highly recommend and we will definitely be doing other tours in the future!

  Our son & his partner gave us this tour for Christmas 2019, so it was eagerly awaited through the interstate lockdown. We finally made it to Sydney & thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Christie was very knowledgeable about the Chinese history in Australia the buildings around Chinatown & also the food from different Asian countries we enjoyed eating. After hearing of the different types of noodles, hotpots & chilli or pepper heat of more dishes, we’ll be back to try them. The tour is over 3 hours & we tried Malaysian rendang beef, Korean spring onion chicken, a Chinese Tea Ceremony (our favourite) Chinese homemade noodles with chicken & veg, finished with lychee gelato. Abbie at the Chinese Tea Ceremony was terrific. She prepared a delicious green tea & told us about its origins & how to prepare it. Our guide Christie was fabulous. Thank you for all of the stories, I enjoyed them all. Find out why Chinese people tap two bent fingers after tea is poured for them. I highly recommend this tour. We’ll try one of the others another trip down.

  My husband and I had a wonderful night (it was his birthday present from me). Our guide Patrick was excellent, knowledgeable, considerate of our needs and a funny guy! We highly recommend it and will be doing more! It was well organised and covid safe. Thank you very much for this wonderful experience xx

  Great to see an organisation such as Taste Tours giving locals and tourists an insight into different cultures and foods, and doing it so well! Living just 1km from Chinatown, I rarely venture into Chinatown except Paddy's Markets, as its daunting to know which restaurants are good, so this took all the guess work out of it and I found a few that I will definitely return to. Patrick (guide) was awesome, engaging and knows his stuff, definitely worth a try for those of us who miss Asia so much and just can't travel there at the moment. 100% recommended and would love to try another one in the West of Sydney as a result. Enjoy!
